Wrapade builds two sizes of machines for forming, filling, and sealing standup pouches. The one shown in these photos is the smaller one, making pouches up to six by nine inches. The larger machine makes pouches up to twelve by fifteen inches, with reclosable zippers if desired. HOW THE POUCHES ARE MADE. Pouches are formed from a continuous web of material. The web passes through a set of plows that fold a W-shape gusset into the bottom of the pouch so it can stand up. If a zipper is to be part of the package, it is sealed to the inside faces of the web near the top edge. Vertical seals along the sides of the pouch are made next, and the zipper is "crushed" in the same area to seal its ends and reduce its thickness. The folds in the bottom of the pouch are sealed, as are seals that hold the gusset together at the ends. The web then travels to a knife station where the pouches are cut apart vertically through the center of the side seals. A clamp holds the pouch as it is cut off, then carries it to the product filler. |

PRODUCT FILLING SYSTEMS. Both dry and liquid products can be packaged in standup pouches. Wrapade will build machines without fillers, allowing you to install a system that best suits your product. We can also integrate customer-supplied filling systems with our machines. OPTIONS AND ADD-ONS. In addition to the aforementioned tear-notch and
zipper, the machines can be equipped with hole punches, on-line embossers,
hot-stamp printers, or other coding and dating devices. Manual machine
controls are standard, but a computerized touch-screen control panel is
available. |
